ROMBERG for strings is a homage to the Berlin painter and photo artist Margrit Romberg. The piece is structurally as well as emotionally connected to the works of Margrit Romberg. How many gradations of a pianissimo note are there? How many folds can a slide have? Is a double bass tender? Does the moon have a colour?

The attempt of ROMBERG is to describe the art and essence of Margrit in music as a kind of musical psychogram. In the film ROMBERG I looked for similarities. Moreover, both Margrit Romberg and I are convinced pacifists. We suffer from the current events. I don’t want to accuse with this film, but to sow hope and love.

ROMBERG für Streicher ist eine Hommage an die Berliner Malerin und Fotokünstlerin Margrit Romberg. Das Stück ist strukturell wie auch emotional verbunden mit den Arbeiten von Margrit Romberg. Wie viele Abstufungen eines Pianissimo-Tons gibt es? Wie viele Falten kann eine Folie haben? Ist ein Kontrabass zärtlich? Hat der Mond eine Farbe?

Darüber hinaus sind sowohl Margrit Romberg als auch ich überzeugte Pazifisten. Wir leiden an den aktuellen Ereignissen. Ich möchte mit diesem Film nicht anklagen, sondern Hoffnung und Liebe säen.
